Touch

You have probably heard about Good-Touch/Bad-Touch. Although other prevention programs may use this name, Pam Church is the author of the original concept.

Pam has updated and revised the prevention education curriculum continuously for fourteen years, and it is currently in the 7th edition (1995).

Good-Touch/Bad-Touch now encompasses programs for kindergarten through sixth grade, and includes a broad range of personal safety issues, including sexual victimization, aggression, the "uh-oh" feeling, coercion, manipulation, disclosure, "non-touching" sexual abuse, self-esteem, self-image, and many others.

Good-Touch/Bad-Touch has been field-tested with 24,000 children and has reached more than 250,000 children. It has been validated as effective prevention education with published research by University of Georgia faculty (Behavior Therapy, 1988). More than 3,000 educators have participated in the program training; it has been implemented in schools for more than 13 years; of all the school systems using the curriculum, no school has ever discontinued it.
